Little Song for Elsie (original New Age Piano)
|
|
|
|
Although this is a solo piano version, there are lyrics. Here are the main ones:
The sun comes up over the water
A shining glow, pure and soft and clean
Spreads o'er the sky
And brings forth more colour
Radiant, warm, bewildering...
And it's really here
Shining down upon me
The misty sky, dewy earth,
the drowsy sea...
I'LL NEVER LIVE THIS DAY AGAIN
AND NEITHER WILL YOU, MY FRIEND
SO LET'S MAKE IT WORTH REMEMBERING.

Short Song Description: There is also a video of this song, using nature scenes, and produced by my daughter, Meredith. It is on the video page, and is also on youtube.

Story Behind the Song: This was written long ago for my friend, Elsie. I used to play it on my guitar and sing it. One day when I was recording some piano tracks in Charlotte, I just started playing it, and added the part near the end that gets really emphatic. I guess I was thinking about the words about making each day worth remembering!
